The First Christian Music Portal Has Arrived It is for this very reason that it becomes so vitally important for initiatives such as this Christian music portal to exist, in order to allow it to be able to hurl into that endless ocean that is the Internet, a "message in a bottle" that is not only different, but also goes against the general trend, and that pursues a genuine search for the beauty of art. In this day and age there are certainly many dreadful singers who appear all too easily to succeed in getting their names into the newspapers, simply by using the gimmickry of poor taste. All it needs is a swearword or two, an anthem to drugs, an 'abnormal' kiss under the spotlights, and lo and behold they get the publicity they crave, sell their records and in so doing manage to camouflage their artistic mediocrity. How do we stand up to this phenomenon? The only way is not by issuing grandiose condemnations, which end up playing right into the hands of the most distasteful of artists. The solution lies in getting young people used to the idea of becoming critical consumers. Young people should not just passively "swallow" everything that is thrown at them by certain idols of the rock music world. They should be helped to reflect, understand and reject anyone who promotes and encourages the non-culture of "freakishness", of violence, of Satanism and of reckless living. This Christian music portal will help to focus attention on those artists who have a totally different set of values. It will offer the possibility of dreams, enthusiasm and hope, and shine a light through that distressing and frightening darkness that certain sinister puppet like figures, who drift around the music world, would like to offer young people, in the name of the only God they recognize - money! Good music does exist. It just needs to be discovered. This Christian music portal will act as an excellent "compass" that will point us in the right direction, and help us do just that.
